Mix Dal Fry


  • How to make mix dal fry:
    







  • Ingredients:
          1. Toovar/Tur Dal (1/4 small bowl)
          2. Moong Dal (1/4 small bowl)
          3. Urad dal (1/4 small bowl)
          4. Chana dal/Bengal gram dal (1/4 small bowl)
          5. Mustard seeds (rai)
          6. Cumin seeds (jeera)
          7. Onion (1 no chopped)
          8. Tomato (1 no chopped)
          9. Curry leaves/Kadipatta
         10. Garlic-ginger paste/wet masala
         11. Garlic cloves (3-4 no)
         12. Turmeric powder (haldi)
         13. Red chilli powder (1-2 tspn)
         14. Green chillies (2-3 no chopped)
         15. Salt to taste
         16. Oil (1 tblspn)


  • Preparation & Cooking: 
         1. Soak the tur dal, urad & chana dal in water for 1 hour.
         2. Add the moong dal, clean the dal mixture & pressure cook till 2-3 whistles.
         3. Let the dal mixture cool till room temperature.
         4. Heat oil in a kadhai/wok, add the mustard,cumin seeds,garlic cloves & curry leaves.
         5. After the seeds crackle add the chopped onion & green chillies, saute for 1 min.
         6. Add 1 tspn of garlic-ginger paste/wet masala, saute for 2 mins.
         7. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder,chopped tomato & saute for 2 mins.
         8. Churn the cooked dal mixture, add the churned mixture to the kadhai, add about
              a cup of water, salt to taste.
         9. Mix well & boil for 5 mins.
        10. Serve the mix dal with steamed rice & enjoy.
