Spicy Rajma Chawal


  • Spicy Rajma Chawal:








  • Ingredients:
         1.  Rajma (half small bowl)
         2.  Basmati Rice (1-2 small bowl)
         3.   Oil (1 tblspn)
         4.  Onion (1 no chopped)
         5.  Tomato Pickle (1-2 tspn)
         6.  Red chilli powder (1-2 tspn)
         7.  Garam masala
         8.  Mustard seeds (rai)
         9.  Cumin seeds (jeera)
       10.  Garlic-ginger paste/wet masala
       11.  Salt to taste
       12. Turmeric powder
       13.  Water (2 cups)
       14. Coriander leaves



  • Preparation & Cooking:
         1. Soak the rajma overnight in water.
         2. Heat oil in a broad wok/kadhai. Add mustard & cumin seeds.
         3. Add chopped onion & saute for 2 mins.
         4. Add the garlic-ginger paste/wet masala,turmeric powder & saute for 
             2 mins.
         5. Wash clean the rajma add & saute for 2-3 mins.
         6. Soak the basmati rice in water for 15-20 mins.
         7. Add red chilli powder,garam masala to the rajma,add one cup of water.
         8. Cover the lid and cook for 15-20 mins.
         9. Wash clean the basmati rice and spread over the rajma do not mix.
        10. Cover the lid and cook for 1-2 mins.
        11. Add about 1-2 tspn of tomato pickle and mix all the ingredients.
        12. Add 2 cups of water,salt & cover the lid and cook for 15-20 mins.
        13. The spicy rajma chawal rice is ready to eat.
        14. Garnish with coriander leaves & serve with onion-cucumber salad & enjoy.
