Chana Dal/Bengal gram Chutney


  • How to make chana dal/bengal gram chutney:







  • Ingredients:

          1. Chana dal (1 small bowl)
          2. Curd/Dahi (sour - 1-2 tspn)
          3. Green chillies (2-3 no )
          4. Garlic cloves (3-4 no)
          5. Cumin seeds (jeera)
          6. Salt to taste
          7. Water


  • For tempering:

          1. Oil (half tspn)
          2. Mustard seeds (rai)
          3. Curry leaves/Kadipatta



  • Preparation & Cooking:
         1. Soak the chana dal for  2-3 hours in water.
         2. Clean the chana dal and put it in a mixer pot.
         3. Add garlic cloves,green chillies, salt to taste,cumin seeds & curd.
         4. Grind  to make paste. Add water if required.
         5. Heat oil in a small vessel,add mustard seeds & curry leaves,after it crackles
             /cooked,pour the tempering on the chana dal paste/chutney.
         6. The chana dal chutney is ready.
         7. Serve in the lunch meals or with thalipeeth,parathas.


  • Serves: Four
