Chana Dal Palak


  • How to make chana dal palak:





  • Ingredients:
          1. Chana dal (half small bowl)
          2. Spinach/Palak (1 small bunch)
          3. Onion (1 no chopped)
          4. Tomato (1 no )
          5. Mustard seeds (rai)
          6. Cumin seeds (jeera)
          7. Turmeric powder (haldi)
          8. Green chilies (2-3 no)
          9. Garlic-ginger paste/wet masala
         10. Oil (1 tblspn)
         11. Water (half to 1 cup)
         12. Salt to taste




  • Preparation & Cooking:
          1. Soak chana dal for 2-3 hours.
          2. Wash clean the spinach leaves and chop and place in a pressure cooker.
          3. Add the chopped tomato,greeen chillies,chana dal,garlic-ginger paste/wet
              masala & water.
          4. Cook till 2-3 whistles.
          5. Let it cool down & churn the chana dal palak mixture.
          6. Heat oil in a kadhai,add mustard & cumin seeds saute for 1 min.
          7. Add the chopped onion & saute for 2 mins.
          8. Add the turmeric powder,mix & then add the chana dal palak mix to the kadhai.
          9. Add ssalt to taste,mix & boil the chana dal palak for 5 mins.
         10. The chana dal palak is ready to eat.
         11. Serve with steamed rice.
