Shengdana/Groundnut chutney

  • Shengdana/Groundnut chutney:

  • Ingredients:
         1. Groundnut (1 small bowl)
         2. Green chillies (2-3 no)
         3. Curd (2 teaspoon)
         4. Fresh coconut pieces
         5. Tomato (1 small-optional)
         6. Garlic (4-5 cloves)
         7. Salt to taste
         8. Water (1-2 cups)

  •  For tempering:
          1. Oil (1/2 tblspn)
          2. Mustard seeds (rai)
          3. Cumin seeds (jeera)
          4. Dry red chillies (2 no)

  • Preparation:
        1. Heat a pan, add the groundnut and roast for 5 mins.Dont let it burn.
        2. After roasting, let the groundnut cool. After cooling, take off the groundnut
             covering (peel).
        3. Take water in a small broad vessel, immerse the tomato and green chillies
             in the water and boil for 2-3 mins.
        4. In the mixer pot, add the groundnut, tomato,green chillies,garlic and coconut
            pieces abt a quarter of a small bowl and 2 tblspn curd/dahi.
        5. Add salt,1 cup water and grind to make a slight fine paste. Add water for
            grinding as and when required.
        6. Take the ground paste in a serving bowl.
        7. Heat oil in a small bowl, add the red chillies, mustard & cumin seeds.After it
            crackles,remove from heat and add over the chutney. Mix well.
        8. The groundnut chutney can be served with dosa, idli and uttapam.
