Methi with Moong Dal Sabji

  • How to make methi/fenugreek leaves with moong dal:



  • Ingredients:
          1. Fenugreek leaves/methi (of 1 bunch)
          2. Moong dal (split yellow lentil-1/4 small bowl)
          3. Onion (1 no chopped)
          4. Green chillies (2 no chopped)
          5. Garlic (4 cloves chopped)
          6. Mustard seeds (rai)
          7. Cumin seeds (jeera)
          8. Chilli powder (1 teaspoon)
          9. Turmeric powder (haldi)
         10. Oil (1 tblspn)
         11. Salt to taste

  • Preparation & Cooking:
          1. Clean & soak the moong dal for one hour in water.
          2. Heat oil in a non stick pan,add chopped garlic, after it turns brown
              add mustard & cumin seeds.
          3. Add the chopped onion,green chillies and saute for 2 mins.
          4. Add the soaked moong dal,saute and add 1/2 cup water. Cook for
              3-5 mins.
          5.  Add chilli powder,salt and washed cleaned methi leaves. Mix properly.
          6.  Cover the lid and cook for 15 mins.
          7. Add water if required to cook the moong dal completely.
          8. Serve with rotis.
