Kadhi

  • Dahi ki kadhi
        
 
  • Ingredients:
          1. Dahi/Curd (1 cup)
          2. Besan/Bengal gram flour (2 spoon)
          3. Garlic (4-5 cloves chopped)
          4. Methi/Fenugreek seeds (5-7 no)
          5. Mustard seeds (rai)
          6. Cumin seeds (jeera)
          7. Green chillies (2-3 chopped)
          8. Curry leaves (5-6 no)
          9. Turmeric powder (haldi)
         10. Coriander leaves to garnish

  • Preparation & Cooking:
          1. Take one cup of curd/dahi and add half cup of water to it.
          2. Add 2 spoonful of besan to it & churn them together to mix well.
          3. Ensure no lumps of besan and dahi are left, mix properly.
          4. Heat oil in a broad vessel, add mustard & cumin seeds and methi seeds.
          5. Add chopped garlic, green chillies & curry leaves, saute them together.
          6. Add the besan-dahi mixture and cook on medium flame.
          7. Add one glass water, turmeric and salt.
          8. Let it come to boil & cook for 10 mins.
          9. Add coriander leaves,kadhi is ready to eat.

  • Servings - Two - Three.

  •  Notes:
          1. Don't cover the lid while cooking the kadhi as it will boil out of the vessel.
          2. Always keep the cooking spoon/spatula inside the vessel in order to avoid
               kadhi from spilling out while boiling up.
          3. If we see kadhi really requires less only,so kadhi can also be considered as a
              diet food. (Good for people on dieting).

          1. Energy - 125calories
          2. Carbs - 17 gms
          3. Fat - 3 gms
          4. protein - 7 gms

     So, try and make kadhi and enjoy with rice/khichdi.
