Garlic Tomato Rice

  • Garlic Tomato Rice:



  • Ingredients:
         1. Rice grains ( 2&1/2 small bowl)
         2. Garlic (5-6 cloves chopped)
         3. Onion (1 no chopped)
         4. Tomato Puree (of 3 no tomato see-basics)
         5. Oil (1&1/2 tblspn)
         6. Mustard seeds (rai)
         7. Cumin seeds (jeera)
         8. Turmeric powder (haldi)
         9. Garlic-Ginger paste/wet masala
        10. Red Chilli powder (1-2 tspn)
        11. Salt to taste
        12. Coriander leaves to garnish


  • Preparation & Cooking:
         1. First clean and cook the rice separately. Try to cook like it should be non-sticky
              (avoid adding more water while cooking the rice).
         2. Heat oil in a kadhai/broad wok. Add the garlic, mustard & cumin seeds.
         3. After the seeds cackle and garlic turns brownish in color, add chopped onion
            and saute for 2 mins.
        4. Add the garlic-ginger paste/wet masala and saute for 2 mins.
        5. Add the turmeric powder,red chilli powder,salt and tomato puree see link-
            Tomato Puree and mix well.
        6. Cook the mixture for 2-3 mins.
        7. Cool the cooked rice and add to the tomato puree mixture.
        8. Mix all the ingredients and cook on low flame for 2-3 mins.
        9. Garnish the garlic tomato rice with coriander leaves.
