  • How to make diet sabji (Cauliflower Potato Sabji)

                Hi!! This post is about how to make diet sabji. Well, making diet sabji is actually 
                a different way of cooking, which I learnt from my mom-in-law. It was all about 
                observation.Often, for dieting, people use oil,chilli,salt etc in less quantity,which
                leads to a little compromise on the taste.I am presenting here different method
                of which you can apply for cooking/making any sabji. Here, I have made
                cauliflower-potato sabji with the same method.This recipe is for the people who 
                want taste while they are dieting.

  • Ingredients:
          1. Oil (1 tblspn)
          2. Cauiflower (florets of 250 gms)
          3. Potato (1-2 no cut in small to medium size)
          4. Mustard seeds (rai)
          5. Cumin seeds (jeera)
          6. Onion (1 no chopped)
          7. Tomato (1 no chopped)
          8. Garlic-Ginger paste (wet masala-refer basics)
          9. Turmeric powder (haldi)
         10. Chilli powder (1-2 teaspoon)
         11. Salt to taste
         12. Coriander leaves to garnish

  • Ingredients for diet people:
          1. Oil (half tblspn or whatever less qty dieting ppl wish to take)
          2. In place of chilli powder, green chillies can be used
          3.All other ingredients same as above (except oil & chilli powder)

  • Preparation & Cooking:
          1. Cut the florets of 250 gms of cauliflower and soak in water to clean.
          2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan/kadhai, add mustard & cumin seeds.
          3. Add the chopped onion, saute till it is brown.
          4. Now add the cleaned florets and cut potato pieces, saute and cover the
              the lid to cook for 2 mins.
          5. Add one teaspoon wet masala, haldi,chilli powder, mix well and cook for
              2 mins. Add little water for the ease of mixing.
          6. Add tomatoes, salt,mix well and let it cook for 15 mins on medium flame.
          7. Add the coriander leaves and serve with rotis.

  • Servings: Two
