Dal Palak Sabji

  •  Dal Palak/Moong dal with Spinach




  • Ingredients:
         1. Palak/Spinach leaves (of 1 bunch chopped)
         2. Garlic (4-5 cloves)
         3. Tomato (1 no chopped)
         4. Green chillies (3-4 no chopped)
         5. Garlic-Ginger paste (wet masala)
         6. Moong Dal (1/2 small bowl)
         7. Oil (1 tblspn)
         8. Mustard seeds (rai)
         9. Cumin seeds (jeera)
        10.Groundnut (10-12 no)
        11. Turmeric power (haldi)
        12. Salt to taste
        13. Water (2 cups)

  • Preparation & Cooking:
         1. Wash and clean the spinach leaves. Take the chopped leaves in a broad vessel.
         2. Add the chopped tomatoes,green chillies,wet masala,groundnut and moong dal.
         3. Add two cup of water to it and keep on the heat stove. Cook for about 15-20 mins.
         4. After the mixture is cooked, remove from the heat and churn the dal and all other
             ingredients together.
         5. Heat oil in a kadhai/broad vessel,add the garlic,after it turns brown add the
             mustard & cumin seeds.
         6. Add the turmeric and salt. Now take a big spoonful of the dal palak mix and add it
            in the kadhai.
         7. Add slowly the rest of the mixture. Mix well, give it a boil on a low flame.
         8. Add water if required. After it boils, remove from heat and serve with roti
             and steamed rice.
