Cabbage with Chana Dal

  • Cabbage chana dal sabji:




  • Ingredients:
          1. Cabbage (1 no small chopped)
          2. Chana Dal/Bengal gram (1 small bowl)
          3. Onion (1 no chopped)
          4. Tomato (1 no chopped)
          5. Mustard seeds (rai)
          6. Cumin seeds (jeera)
          7. Oil (1 tblspn)
          8. Turmeric powder (haldi)
          9. Chili powder (1-2 tblpn)
         10. Garlic-Ginger paste (wet masala)
         11. Salt to taste
         12. Coriander leaves to garnish

  • Preparation & Cooking:
          1. First clean and soak the chana dal/bengal gram for 2 hrs in water.
          2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add mustard and cumin seeds.
          3. Add the onions,saute for 1 min and add the wet masala.
          4. Add the turmeric & for chilli powder, saute for 2 mins.
          5. Add the chana dal and saute for 1 min. Add some water, cover the lid
              and cook for about 3-5 mins.
          6. Add tomatoes,then salt and chopped cabbage and mix well.
          7. Cover the lid and cook for 15-20 mins.
          8. The cabbage chana dal sabji is ready garnish with coriander leaves
              and serve with rotis.
